Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: July 27, 2026

These terms apply to the official Friday for Discord website, AskFriday extension, and Friday Bot software. By using them, you agree to these terms.

About Friday

Friday is open-source software that helps draft or generate replies using a user-selected third-party AI provider. AskFriday is a Vencord extension. Friday Bot is a private, self-hosted Discord application. The official project does not offer a central hosted AI service or public bot.

Eligibility and authority

You may use Friday only if you can legally agree to these terms and are permitted to use Discord and the selected AI provider. If you install the bot in a server, you represent that you have authority to do so and to grant its requested permissions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Friday to:

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

AI output

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, outdated, or unsuitable. Friday does not provide legal, medical, financial, safety, or other professional advice. Verify important information with qualified sources. You decide whether and how to use every output.

Third-party services

Friday interoperates with Discord, Vencord, Cloudflare, GitHub, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and provider CLIs. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. Friday is not affiliated with or endorsed by those services, and their availability is not guaranteed.

Open-source license

The software is licensed under the license included in its repository. These service terms do not replace or restrict rights granted by the applicable open-source license. Trademarks, third-party services, and user content remain subject to their respective rights.

Self-hosted instances

A person or organization hosting Friday Bot controls that instance and is responsible for its operation, notices, data handling, access, and legal compliance. The official project is not responsible for modifications, third-party deployments, or an operator's conduct.

Availability and changes

Friday may change, stop working, or become incompatible with Discord, Vencord, an AI provider, or a CLI at any time. Features may be modified or discontinued without notice. You may stop using Friday at any time.

Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Friday is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, security, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the project owner and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, provider charges, or damages arising from your use of or inability to use Friday.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as Friday changes. Material revisions will update the date above and be published in the project repository. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
